[interview] DASH & WILL

As i promised , here is our new interview with the 2 lovely girls from Australia => Dash & Will
I thought that it was the best way to learn more about the band
so thanks to the girls for answering our questions

1) Where did you first meet?

We first met in Primary school when we were 10. We didn't get along when we first met, but eventually bonded over our love of music... and looking after the school animals together!

2) Where the name of the band come from ?

Dash & Will are the names we would have been called if we'd been born boys... Charlie would have been Dasher and I would have been William.

3) What inspires you musically speaking ?

Everything and anything! We're constantly inspired. It could be relationships, fashion, music from any time and any genre or a story we make up... there's always a song that can be written!

4) Who write the songs ?

We both write all our songs. We've just started writing seperately, and this has been great for us to explore different
ideas and sounds and what we love as individuals. 

5) What do you want people to know about Dash&Will that they don't know yet?

We're not manufactured, we write our own songs, we love a good time, we play our own instruments and we love what we do!

6) You played with The Kooks on their Australian tour, in 2008 and 2009 , what's your best memory ?

I was BEYOND excited about touring with the Kooks! They were my favourite band for years and I harassed our booking agent for months to try and get this tour! It was so much fun, but the smaller shows around Australia are fun - it's all about what you make of the situation!

7) Did you enjoy to be their support band ?

It was amazing! They were really lovely boys, talented musicians and we were able to go out with them a few times and hang out! They're great!

8) Do you have plans for an european tour ?

At the moment we're concentrating on Australia and we're heading to America in march for SXSW. I've just written a song about Berlin so I'm hoping it will take me there!!

9) You went to Japan for one of your videoclip " Out of control" can you tell us more about your trip in this country ?

It was so much fun! It was a last minute decision to go to Japan, we literally decided to do it two days before we left! We shot the clip in Tokyo - such an amazing city! We didn't get to do a lot of sight seeing because we were so busy - but i'd love to go back and see it all again.

10) I must admit that i love the new clip " Animal" , who had the ideas for the screenplay?

Thank you! We basically sent the song to a bunch of directors and they all came back with ideas. We liked that this clip was left-of-centre and wasn't predictable. We wanted to have fun!

10) What's the first gig you went ?

Josie : My first concert was Kylie Minogue! It was AMAZING!

11) If you had to keep only one song in your ipod, what would it be ?
Oh that's way too hard! I can't pick - sorry!

12) What is your guilty song?
Hanson... anything by them. They're my all time fav!


13) If you could choose anybody, to come on stage with you, who would it be ?

Hmmm... Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Debbie Harry, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Robbie Williams, Julian Casablacis, Rufus Wainwright... there are so many more but i'll stop here!

 

14) What's next for 2011 ?

Touring, travelling, releasing songs - taking on the world!
